As a jewellery designer who sells online through Etsy I need to understand how social media works. A face-to-face course is a great option.
There’s a course happening around now called Digital Marketing on the Run which is led by the lovely Sue Keogh of Sookio. I hadn’t met her before I signed up to do the first session but I am definitely a fan now. Unfortunately I can’t make the next (and final) two sessions so let me know how they go - if you go. I think they are nearly booked up but not quite.
The fee goes to charity – Sue is running the London Marathon to raise money for the Arthur Rank Hospice, and leading this course is part of her fundraising efforts. Digital Marketing On The Run – get it!
You get to network with the other attendees who run a range of different businesses. I’ve met some really interesting people who do things from plastic welding to 3D food printing. They’ve given me insights into my business that the other crafty types I usually hang out with might not think of.
It takes place in Central Working, a rather cool hang out on the Science Park. That's in Cambridge rather than Central Woking.
You get free frothy coffee.
Sue is a great trainer, setting a good pace and packing a lot into the three hours. The atmosphere is light-hearted and there are helpful materials.
Even though it’s aimed at beginners, non-beginners will always pick up some useful tips.
It’s practical, with time to think about how you are going to use the tools discussed for your own business
It could kick start your rise to the top of the google listings.
You’ll learn stuff. I’ve learned that all the titles to my previous blog posts are a bit rubbish. And also that that there are more ways to write blogs than by writing numbered lists.
